QalamClip turns long Islamic lectures, khutbahs, halaqas and podcasts into short clips for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels and TikTok. Paste a link and it transcribes the video, finds the moments worth sharing, and reframes them to portrait with the speaker in view. You can also chat with the video to find what was said and when.

Talk-led videos where the words carry the message: lectures, khutbahs, Q&A sessions, interviews and podcasts. It works best when speech is clear and there isn't loud background music. Videos with little or no speech won't give good clips.

Both. Paste a link to any YouTube video that is publicly viewable (private and members-only videos can't be fetched), or upload a video file from your device: MP4, MOV, M4V, MKV or WebM, up to 5 GB. Uploaded files are deleted automatically 30 days after upload; the clips you make from them stay in your projects.

QalamClip transcribes 28 languages, including Arabic, English, French, Urdu, Malay, Indonesian, Turkish, Bengali, Somali and Spanish. It detects the language automatically, or you can choose it yourself when you create a project.

Usually a few minutes, and longer for longer videos. You don't need to keep the page open. The project keeps processing and will be ready in Projects when you come back.

It reads the full transcript, works out what kind of content it is (a khutbah, a Q&A, a story and so on), and looks for moments that stand on their own: a complete reminder, a story, a clear answer. It trims each clip so it starts and ends at natural points, not mid-sentence.

Yes. When you create a project you can choose the clip length and write a short brief, for example "focus on the parts about patience" (beta). You can also choose to tighten long pauses.

Yes. For portrait clips, QalamClip tracks where the speaker is and crops around them, adjusting at camera cuts. When two people are talking, it can show both in a split layout. You can also keep the original landscape format.

Yes. For portrait clips you can have subtitles burned into the video, one to five words at a time in the colour style you choose. Every clip also comes with a transcript, and you can download subtitle files (.srt) at sentence or word level to use in your editor or upload with your post.

A beta feature that spots Qur'an verses and hadith mentioned in the lecture and shows them next to the video, so you can check citations or add them to your caption. Suggestions can be wrong, so please check them against a trusted source before you publish.

Yes. You can download clips one by one, or all of a project's clips together.

Ask questions about a video, like "What did he say about tawakkul?" or "Summarise the three main points". Answers are based on the transcript and include timestamps you can jump to. It's handy for writing captions, finding a quote, or reviewing a long lecture quickly.

A general assistant for your da'wah work that isn't tied to a video, for things like drafting captions or planning a series. It can search the web when a question needs up-to-date information.

Credits pay for processing. Creating clips or chatting about a video costs about one credit per minute of video, so a one-hour lecture costs about 60 credits. A General Chat conversation costs one credit.

Credits are reserved when a project starts, based on the video's length. If the video is shorter than expected, the difference is returned. If the project fails, all of its credits come back to you automatically.

Every new account starts with 30 free credits. After that, buy a credit bundle from the Credits page in the app. Bundles start at $3.99 and are a one-time payment with no subscription. See Pricing for all bundles, or contact us if you need more.

No. Credits stay in the workspace you bought them for until they're used. Nothing renews and you're never charged automatically.

A team is a shared workspace. Members see the same projects, clips and collections and draw from the same credit balance. Owners and admins invite people by email and manage their roles. Your personal workspace stays private to you.

We set teams up for you. Get in touch with your organisation's name and who should own it. Once it's ready, the owner can invite the rest of the team.

Yes. Switch between your personal workspace and any team you belong to from the workspace menu in the app.

Only with permission. A video being public on YouTube doesn't mean you can repost it. Ask the speaker, masjid or channel first. Many are happy to say yes when you explain you're spreading their reminders with credit. Never cut a speaker's words so they seem to say something they didn't. See our Terms.

No. Your videos, transcripts and chats are only used to provide the service to you. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

Your projects and clips stay in your account until you delete them. See our Privacy Policy for how long we keep each type of data.

Go to Settings and delete your account. If you're the only owner of a team, you'll need to hand over ownership to another member first.
